Alex Easton MP has formally presented a copy of his Early Day Motion (EDM) in Parliament to Mr Trevor Magowan in recognition of his exceptional service to the Boys’ Brigade in Northern Ireland.
The EDM, recently tabled at Westminster, acknowledges Mr Magowan’s incredible 64 years of dedication to 1st Ballygrainey Boys’ Brigade, with 54 of those years served as an officer. From joining as a young boy to eventually becoming Captain, Trevor has shown steadfast commitment, leadership, and service to the organisation, his church, and the wider Bangor community.
Mr Easton stated:
“It was a real honour to present Trevor Magowan with a copy of the Early Day Motion which highlights just how much of an impact he has made over six decades of service. His selfless dedication, even through personal health challenges in recent years, is nothing short of inspirational. Trevor has been a role model to generations of young men and a key figure in shaping leaders not only in Ballygrainey, but across Northern Ireland through his involvement in officer training. This recognition is richly deserved.”
The presentation took place at Ballygrainey Presbyterian Church, where Mr Magowan continues to serve with the same passion and commitment that has defined his incredible journey with the Boys’ Brigade.
Alex Easton MP added:
“The Boys’ Brigade is about developing young people with confidence and faith, and Trevor Magowan exemplifies everything it stands for. I am proud to bring his dedication to the attention of Parliament.”
Kind regards
