I am utterly appalled by the despicable attack on a mother in her home in Carrickmannin Gardens, Bangor, on Tuesday evening. The actions of these masked men—threatening a woman while she was at home with her five children—are nothing short of cowardly and completely unacceptable.

No one should ever feel unsafe in their own home, and I fully support the PSNI in their efforts to bring those responsible to justice. This type of criminal behaviour has no place in our society, and those who engage in such acts have nothing to offer our community.

I urge anyone who has any information, no matter how small, to come forward and assist the police in their investigation. If you saw anything suspicious in the area at the time or have any relevant footage, please contact the PSNI immediately via 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously.

I also welcome the increased police patrols in the area to reassure the local community, who deserve to live in peace and without fear.
