I am very pleased to welcome the opening of Northern Ireland’s first Admiral Nurse Clinic, located at Nationwide Building Society, 61–63 Donegall Place, Belfast, BT1 5AG — now the closest available clinic for families in North Down.

This is a significant and much-needed development in providing specialist dementia support in our region. Admiral Nurses, provided by Dementia UK, are experts in dementia care, offering personalised support to families and carers who are often overwhelmed by the emotional, practical, and medical challenges of the condition.

The introduction of this clinic through Dementia UK’s partnership with Nationwide Building Society is a vital step forward. It means that families in North Down and across Northern Ireland now have face-to-face access to dedicated dementia expertise — something that has been sorely lacking until now.

As Member of Parliament for North Down, I remain committed to supporting our families who are living with dementia. This is an issue close to my heart, and I will continue to campaign for the establishment of a permanent Admiral Nurse presence within North Down itself.

For now, this Belfast clinic is an invaluable resource, and I would encourage any family in North Down in need of support to take advantage of this new service.
