“I utterly condemn the horrific murder that has taken place in the Elmfield Walk area of Donaghadee. This brutal and senseless act has left our community in shock and mourning.
It is profoundly heartbreaking to learn that the victim, Ms Montgomery, was not only a devoted mother to two young children but was also pregnant at the time of her death. The loss of both her and her unborn child is an unimaginable tragedy.
My thoughts and deepest sympathies are with her children, her family, and all who knew and loved her. Two young lives have been changed forever, and I know the local community will rally around them with compassion and support in the difficult days ahead.
I understand that the police have arrested a man on suspicion of murder, and I fully support the ongoing investigation by the PSNI. I would urge anyone with any information that might assist the police to come forward without hesitation.
This act of violence is utterly abhorrent and must be condemned in the strongest possible terms. There can be no tolerance for such brutality in our society, and justice must now be pursued with urgency and determination.”
