North Down MP, Alex Easton recently visited the Northstone quarry site at Craigantlet.
Following the visit, Alex said,
“As part of my engagement with local businesses, I had a very positive visit to the Northstone quarry at Craigantlet, a site I pass regularly but never fully appreciated the scale of the works contained within, and its importance to the Northern Ireland economy.
It was encouraging to learn about their focus on sustainability, and while I often hear about the merits of the circular economy, this was the first time I have really seen it in action.
Businesses like those based on this site lead the efforts to improve our environment, not government departments. And therefore, they deserve support, not barriers, to make things happen.
I look forward to continuing to work with Northstone, and this was once again a timely reminder of the truly world class businesses who make North Down their home.
