North Down MP Alex Easton has warmly welcomed the progress being made towards the long-awaited Millisle Environmental Improvement Scheme — a project he has been lobbying for over ten years.
Speaking about the development, Alex Easton MP said:
“I am absolutely delighted to see the Millisle Environmental Improvement Scheme finally moving towards approval after more than a decade of lobbying and hard work. This project has been a personal priority of mine for many years, and it’s fantastic to see it now getting through the final hurdles in Ards and North Down Borough Council.
The scheme will deliver major improvements to the village, including new footpaths, upgraded seating areas, and improved lighting — all of which will make Millisle a safer, brighter, and more welcoming place for residents and visitors alike.
These enhancements will not only improve the quality of life for local people but will also help support local businesses and encourage more visitors to come to Millisle, giving a welcome boost to tourism and the local economy.
Millisle is a wonderful community that deserves this investment, and I am looking forward to seeing the project finally get underway and, in time, seeing the finished results.”
Mr Easton concluded by reaffirming his ongoing commitment to securing investment and environmental improvements for towns and villages right across North Down.
