Alex Easton MP for North Down has formally presented a copy of his Early Day Motion to the Sir Knights of Olive Leaf Royal Black Preceptory No. 542, Bangor, to mark the Preceptory’s 75th anniversary.
Speaking after the presentation to the assembled Sir Knights, Mr Easton said:
“It was a great honour to join the Sir Knights of Olive Leaf Royal Black Preceptory No. 542 and to present them with a copy of the Early Day Motion I tabled in the House of Commons to mark their 75th anniversary. For many years, this Preceptory has made a proud and positive contribution to the cultural, charitable and community life of Bangor and North Down, while maintaining a steadfast commitment to Christian witness, fellowship and service.”
He continued:
“I also felt it was important that the Motion placed on record our remembrance of Past Master John McCready, a member of the Ulster Defence Regiment, who was murdered by terrorists in 1976. His sacrifice is not forgotten, and it is fitting that the Sir Knights continue to remember him with such dignity and respect.”
Concluding, Mr Easton said:
“I want to congratulate the Sir Knights of Olive Leaf Royal Black Preceptory No. 542 on reaching this significant milestone and to wish them every success as they continue their valuable work in the years ahead.”
