North Down MP Alex Easton is inviting businesses from across North Down and beyond to attend a special Business Briefing on the challenges facing companies trading between Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The event will take place at 7.30pm on Thursday 25th June 2026 at the Clandeboye Lodge Hotel, Bangor, and will bring together logistics experts, businesses, policy-shapers and Unionist MPs to discuss the ongoing impact of the Irish Sea Border, red tape, additional paperwork, delays and increased costs affecting many firms.
Alex Easton MP said:
“Businesses across Northern Ireland continue to face unnecessary bureaucracy and barriers when trading with the rest of the United Kingdom. I regularly hear from local companies that are struggling with additional paperwork, increased costs and delays which simply should not exist within our own country.
This briefing is an opportunity for business owners, managers and employers to come together, share their experiences and hear directly from experts who are dealing with these issues every day.
We want to hear first-hand how current arrangements are impacting local businesses and discuss practical solutions that will help restore smooth and unfettered trade between Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Whether you are a small family-run business, a retailer, manufacturer, wholesaler, distributor or logistics operator, your voice matters and I would encourage you to attend.”
The event will include presentations, discussion and an opportunity for attendees to raise concerns and ask questions directly to the panel.
Trading with Great Britain shouldn’t be this difficult. Let’s discuss the way forward.
