Easton Calls for Progress on New PSNI Training College at Kinnegar

North Down MP Alex Easton has called for progress on the development of the new Police Service of Northern Ireland training college at Kinnegar following a recent visit to the site.

After visiting the site and seeing first-hand what the location has to offer, Mr Easton said the development presents a major opportunity to create a modern, purpose-built police training facility that could serve as a flagship project for Northern Ireland.

Alex Easton MP said:

“After visiting the Kinnegar site and seeing first-hand what it has to offer, it is clear that this location provides a unique opportunity to develop a modern, one-stop police training college for the Police Service of Northern Ireland.

“This project has the potential to become a flagship development for Northern Ireland. Over a ten-year period, the site could be transformed into a state-of-the-art training facility capable of supporting the full range of police training needs.

“Our police officers carry out an incredibly demanding role, often in difficult circumstances, and it is only right that they are provided with the very best training facilities. A new training college at Kinnegar would allow the PSNI to deliver modern, integrated training in a purpose-built environment.

“This is a major opportunity not only for policing but for Northern Ireland as a whole. Investing in the development of this site would demonstrate a clear commitment to strengthening policing, supporting officers, and ensuring that our communities continue to be protected by a highly trained and professional police service.”

Mr Easton added that he will continue to engage with the relevant authorities to ensure the project receives the attention and investment required to allow the development of the Kinnegar site to move forward.
